Pink Floyd actually did met Wizard of Oz. I saw it happen.

Are you familiar with the urban legend of The Wizard of Oz + Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon? Dateline: 2017. Boise Treefort Festival (5 days of amazing, same format as SxSW). Final nite of the fest, Sunday nite. Boise Contemporary Theatre. I saw a play so profound, so outrageously ambitious, I have no interest in seeing a play again, ever. It was called 'T here are Chinese Tunnels under Boise.' But back to Floyd, Oz, and the urban legend. Thousands, maybe tens of thousands, swear it's true. This is a global phenomenon. The gist is that the two are perfectly synchronized. If you watch the flick on mute, listening to the record at the same time, they're in sync. I'm not making this up. Why do music fans only own craptastic stereos?

Dateline: Victrolas onwards. The ladyfriend with the Thunderbird MBA had one loudspeaker behind the sofa . Another, an MD, had a clock radio as her music system. I witnessed her using it to dance to MacArthur Park & it was horrifying. A couple others had the please think for me I'm unable Bose wave radio. Most had tiny Bluetooth speakers. Not just ladies, blokes also. Same thing. Craptastic stereos from the 90s. All have this also in common: they enjoy music. All enjoy music or claim to (doesn't everyone?). Surely everyone replies in the affirmative to the simple query do you dig music? Oh yeah I like music listen whenever I can oh yeah man for sure. So I reply oh groovy what's your stereo like? Their reply what stereo? I use airpods & my Bluetooth speaker at home. I'm been inside the homes of wealthy friends & colleagues, many. Nice furniture & art. Fancy kitchens. 7 days of faux bros at Palm Desert bicycle training camp

Dateline: 2019. In Feb I joined a small group heading from Idaho to Palm Desert for a week of winter bicycle training. About 30 from Idaho go annually. I joined a travel van with 5 other cyclists. For what devolved into 7 bummer days of what should have been hella more fun. We leave on a Friday eve. Someone rented a travel van. Towing big trailer filled w/bikes. All but 1 of us met at guys house, I knew them vaguely, from bike rides only. Never off the bike. I had a suitcase with a backpack. The one guy I didn't know loudly yells 'hey who brought the big suitcase?' whilst loading the trailer (it's not a big suitcase). I said mine. Since he didn't know me he didn't say anything more. But it was a clue of how the week was gonna go. Let's focus. We drive a mile into the foothills to pick up the last guy at his multi-million-dollar house.
